This 940 is faced with the classic Hamilton Double sunk Railroad Dial. This antique dial has the desired antique Hamilton logo in the handwritten font. This dial was the top of the line and for .50 cents you could upgrade from the single sunk dial to this double sunk dial. We have the raised outer circumference with the bold Hamilton Arabic numerals and every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have the recessed center chapter for the Hamilton Logo in the desired antique signed script, with a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. These ornate dials were made using 3 Copper Plates soldered together, and then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial the deep rich porcelain finish. This dial is in very good condition with only minor crazing near the 10 and below the second hand chapter, still showing clean, bright with and gorgeous! This beautiful dial is highlighted with the original blued Steel Railroad Spade/Spade Hands. This timepiece shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.
