This all-original Waltham Railroad Pocket Watch in excellent condition and a rare find with one of the most desired configurations. We have the highest of grades 23 Jewel Vanguard Movement, Up Down Wind Indicator, Montgomery Triple Sunk Railroad Dial, Keystone Case Company Stirrup Bow Case highlighted with the Blued Steel Hands. The Up Down Wind Indicator reads how much time is left on that wind or mainspring as to not accidentally let the pocket watch run out of mainspring and stop timing, this is in the recessed sub register at the 12:00 position. This was a critical function for a Railroad Pocket Watch yet too expensive for most to afford and not produced in large quantities. We have a rare and collectable Waltham Vanguard Railroad Pocket Watch in a league with only the very finest of pocket watches manufactured. This Waltham Dial is the highly desired Montgomery Railroad Dial; each minute maker is counted out in Arabic numerals around the raised outer circumference and every 5 minute marker highlighted in red, the height of functionality. Also on the raised outer chapter we have the antique Waltham Arabic font numerals. Then this rare triple sunk Waltham Dial has the center chapter for the Waltham Logo and we have 2 recessed sub chapters one for the second hand at the 6 o’clock position and the other at the 12 o’clock position for our wind indicator. This fine dial is actually made using 4 pieces of Copper soldiered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain finish. This antique Waltham Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This highest of grade Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewel Movement is in pristine condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. This Vanguard is highlighted with gold lettering and the beautiful antique damasking. This fine movement has again 23 Jewels and the Lossier Hairspring. The Vanguard is lever set and stem wound. Then we have a, Double Roller, Safety Pinion, high-grade Micro Regulator, gold balance weights, gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train, steel escapement, adjusted to 6 positions and heat and cold all designed for extreme accuracy. This Waltham 23 Jewel Vanguard Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.

This Waltham Vanguard is housed in the most popular of railroad cases, the 10K Gold Filled Keystone Case Company Stirrup Bow Case. This Keystone Railroad Case is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular size pocket watch manufactured. This Railroad Pocket Watch was used on the rails and has many “Railroad Watch Inspectors” marks on the inside back cover (which I tried to capture in the pictures) and has been meticulously maintained. To highlight this pristine J. Boss Keystone Railroad Case and Railroad Dial we have the original Blued Steel Railroad Hands all in excellent condition, this highest grade Waltham Pocket Watches again shows just beautifully.
