Savvy collectors will immediately notice the words "Hamilton Watch Company" scrolling across this beautiful double sunk dial. The elegant script was too long for any but a size 18 pocket watch, and even then very few Hamiltons were so inscribed. This Hamilton 946 boasts Lancaster's prized 23 jewel motor-barreled movement – complete with a sapphire pallet jewel – famed for its durability and accuracy. The text and decoration adorning the temporal engine matches the dial's exuberant turn-of-the-century style. It shares the same bewitching damascening pattern found on the Hamilton 996 movement. And then there's the 946's hand-engraved case. I don't often encounter such a fine watch in such a perfectly preserved 14k gold-filled case – especially one with the decoration so prominently displayed on the front. The case's Art Nouveau design is a stunning tribute to the international aesthetic's blend of romance and quality craftsmanship. This high grade Hamilton 946 is one of just 1,100 produced by the American manufacturer in 1906. As such, it's a historically significant heirloom-quality timepiece. More than that, this lovingly serviced, super-accurate railroad pocket watch is a pleasure to hold, and behold. If you understand the appeal, this Hamilton 946 is a must-have addition to your existing collection, or an ideal place to start your journey into America's horological heyday. Full One Year Warranty
