We have a rare Waltham with the Up Down Wind Indicator showing just how much mainspring has been used on that wind. Then the dial is also a rare find and referred to as a “Canadian Dial” with 24 Hour Dial inside the 12 Hour Dial both in the Boxcar style font. This Waltham 23 Jewel Up Down Wind Indicator Vanguard Movement is in excellent condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. We have the beautiful antique damasking pattern on the Nickel Silver ¾ Plate Movement highlighted gold lettering. Then we have the 23 Ruby Jewels, Up Down Indicator, Lever Set, Double Roller and is adjusted to 6 positions and is also adjusted to heat and cold. This fine movement is also designed with a high grade micro-regulator, gold balance weights, both screw and flush jewel settings with a gold center wheel and train all designed for extreme accuracy. This Waltham 23 Jewel Vanguard has just been serviced and is excellent timekeeper as designed. This fine Waltham would make an excellent pocket watch for daily carry or as a wonderful addition to any collection.

This Waltham Dial is referred to as a Triple Sunk “Canadian Dial” with the 24 Hour Time in Arabic numerals. The font is the classic Waltham Boxcar style Arabic numerals around the outer circumference with and then every minute maker every minute in a simple hash mark. These fine dials are made using 4 Copper Plates soldered together and then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial the deep rich Porcelain finish. Then we have the center sunken chapter for the Waltham logo and the numerals for 24 Hour Time then we the raised outer circumference for the 12 Hour Time. This ornate dial then has 2 sunken sub chapters one for Up Down Indicator and the other for the custom second hand. This Waltham Dial has a minor craze line at the 10 position, nothing major, magnification needed to see, I need to mention. This Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewel Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for many generations to come.
