The Elgin Dial is referred to as a Porcelain Single Sunk Dial and is in excellent condition. The single sunk dial has the antique Elgin logo with classic Roman Numerals and the popular Railroad Track design around the outer circumference. Then we have a sunken sub register for the second hand. These fine dials are made using many layers of baked Silica giving the dials that deep rich glass like Porcelain finish. This fine dial is highlighted by the beautiful and original delicate Blue Spade Hands. This fine Elgin Hunter Case Pocket Watch is in excellent condition and shows beautifully.

This Elgin Movement is a Grade 153 Model 6 and referred to as a Hunter ¾ Plate Movement. This fine timepiece has 17 fine ruby jewels and beautifully damasking on the nickel silver plates. In the day 17 Jewels was considered a high jewel count most had an 11 to 15 Jewel count. This fine movement also is designed with screw gold jewel settings, Moseley Regulator, Brequet Hairspring and is adjusted to 3 positions with gold center wheel and train all designed for added accuracy. The Nickel Silver Movement is in excellent condition without reckless jewelers marks or corrosion, just pristine. The Elgin Watch Company manufactured 14,100 of this model between 1896 through 1900. The America Pocket Watch of the day was truly the Scientific Instrument of the day in 1896. This finest of timepieces is sure to be appreciate for many generations to come.
