This Hamilton Pocket Watch 992L is housed in a pristine Wadsworth 14K White GF Model 2 Bar Over Crown Railroad (BOC) Case. One of the most collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured and we have an excellent example of the most desired configuration with this pristine Hamilton Dial, White GF BOC Case, 992 Lever Set Movement highlighted by the Blued Steel Spade / Whip Railroad Hands. This extra fine Hamilton 992L Movement is housed in the highly sought after and now rare Wadsworth White 14K White GF BOC Model 2 Railroad Case. This all-original timepiece was first seen factory advertised in 1926 as factory cased and timed by The Hamilton Watch Company. The Wadsworth Bar Over Crown Case was deigned by Hamilton and the Wadsworth Case Company, the bar over crown design function was to avoid accidentally pulling up the crown and possibly damaging the lever set movement.

This Hamilton Railroad Dial is clean, bright and just gorgeous! This dial is referred to as a double sunk Montgomery Dial and is one of the most popular of all Railroad Dials manufactured. We have the Hamilton logo in the center sunken chapter, and then around the outer circumference we have a raised chapter for the Old English Arabic numerals with every minute marker in Arabic numerals and every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have a sunken sub chapter for the second hand. This is fine Hamilton Montgomery Dial and is again one of the most popular of dials Hamilton offered. This is actually 3 pieces of metal soldered together then baked with many layers of silica to create this fine porcelain glass finish. This Hamilton Montgomery Railroad Dial is classic and one of the most popular railroad dials and a rare find in this condition, no issues I can detect. Along with this beautiful dial we have the original hands beautifully Blued Steel Spade / Whip Railroad Hands ornate and in excellent condition. This timepiece shows just beautifully and is an excellent timekeeper.

The Hamilton Pocket Watch Grade 992 is one of the most popular and collected of all Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watches, a size 16 that measures 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. The Grade 992L, Model 1 is lever set and stem wound. The movement has 21 fine Ruby Jewels, adjusted to 5 positions, double roller and also adjusted to heat and cold. This highest of grade pocket watches also has a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, solid gold raised jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. The highest of grade pocket watches earned The Hamilton Watch Company the name of “Americas Timekeeper”with more grade 992s on the rails than any other single grade from any manufacture from 1903 – 1930.

This is an example of ingenuity that made the late 18th early 19th century American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
