Antique Illinois Pocket Watch The Gentleman’s Dress Watch of the Day

In 1927, the Hamilton Watch Company bought the Illinois watch company. Ten years before the corporate takeover, this wonderful size 16 Illinois gentlemen’s dress pocket watch rolled off their assembly line – a fine example of the Springfield-based company’s technological prowess and craftsmanship.

The unorthodox placement of the sub-seconds dial and the use of metal for the dial reflects the spirit of the time, when the Art Deco movement challenged mass market manufacturers to experiment with bold shapes and new materials.

Blued steel Breguet hands – prized by collectors – circumnavigate a flawless dial whose numbers are as legible as they are whimsical. Adorned with Geneva stripes, the Grade 305 movement remains faithful to the brand’s storied past and sterling reputation for accuracy and dependability

If you’re looking for a stylish pocket watch housed in an elegant, un-monogrammed Defiant case, I defy you to find a more perfectly preserved and practical piece.

All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, ultrasonically cleaned and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease, adjusted for accuracy.

Full one year warranty.
