The Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch Grade 992B was also first introduced in 1940 and was the pinnacle and the last of the Hamilton Railroad Models introduced.

This high-grade 992B Movement is housed in a beautiful Hamilton Model A Yellow Gold Fill Case. An excellent example of the most desired configurations with this pristine Hamilton Double Sunk Railway Special Dial, Yellow Gold Fill Hamilton Model A Case, 992B Lever Set Movement highlighted by the original pristine Black Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands. The Hamilton Model A Case was first seen advertised by Hamilton in 1940 and is one of Hamilton’s most classic railroad pocket watch cases. The Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch Grade 992B was also first introduced in 1940 and was the pinnacle and the last of the Hamilton Railroad Models introduced. Production started in 1940 and was the last off the production line in 1969 with a total production of 685,300 over 29 years in 31 production runs. This Hamilton Railway Special Pocket Watch is in pristine condition and hopefully the many pictures and extreme magnification help tell the story of this truly fine Hamilton Railway Special.

This Hamilton 992B is faced with a pristine and desired Hamilton Railway Special Montgomery Dial; this is the classic railroad dial with the each minute maker counted out in Arabic numerals around the outer circumference, with every 5 minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have the classic Hamilton Old English Arabic font numerals also referred to as the Blind Mans Dial due the strong visibility. The classic Hamilton dial has the center portion for the Hamilton Railway Special logo written in block font. Then we have a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. This Hamilton Railway Special Dials is one of the most popular and collected of all railroad dials, both beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial is made using the later Melamine and is again in excellent condition. This fine dial is highlighted with the original beautiful Black Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands also in excellent condition.

This is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of size pocket watches. The Hamilton Grade 992B is lever set and stem wound movement with 21 fine Ruby Jewels. This fine movement is also adjusted to 6 positions and adjusted to heat and cold with flush gold jewel settings and a double roller. This highest of grade pocket watches also has a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for an incredibly accurate timepiece. This highest of grade pocket watches kept the Hamilton Watch Company in the forefront of the major pocket watch manufactures and helped them maintain the title of “The Railroad Timekeeper of America”.
