Quick Overview

We are pleased to offer for your consideration this classic Hamilton Pocket Watch Lever Set Grade 924. The Grade 924 is a size 18 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of size pocket watches. The bezel on these cases snap off as opposed to screw off, so I include a case opener tool for the purpose of easily opening the case to pull the lever to set the time. I hope the many pictures and extreme magnification help in the description of this truly collectable Hamilton Pocket Watch.

This Hamilton 924 is faced with a flawless Hamilton Single Sunk Dial with classic Roman numerals, a rare find. This Hamilton single sunk dial has the center chapter for the Hamilton logo in the antique singed script. Then we have the Hamilton Roman numerals around the outer circumference, with a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. Truly a rare find, Hamilton manufactured very few dials with Roman Numerals. After 1984 Roman Numerals would not have been considered “Railroad Grade” though few if any Railroad Timekeepers would reject this pocket watch as not being Railroad Grade. This dial is actually made using 3 pieces of metal soldiered together, then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that rich porcelain glass finish. This pristine dial is again without flaws and has the original beautiful Blued Steel Spade / Spade Railroad Hands also in excellent condition. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully, sure not to disapoint.

This high grade Hamilton Grade 924 Movement is one of the early movements manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company and we have a very low six-digit serial number. The total number of the Grade 924 produced was only 142,275 over 27 years from 1899 through 1926. This 924 Movement is in pristine condition without reckless jewelers tool marks or corrosion. This is truly a classic Hamilton Pocket Watch for the collection housed in this pristine clear back display case. This Hamilton 924 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 17 fine Ruby Jewels and adjusted to 3 positions and adjusted to heat and cold. This fine movement also has a high-grade regulator, gold balance weights, raised and flush screw jewel settings with a gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. One of the finest Hamilton Pocket Watches manufactured and is an excellent timekeeper to this day and for generations to come.

This is another excellent example of the of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a world wide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
