Folks we have a wonderful offering for your consideration in this pristine Hamilton Pocket Watch Railroad Grade 992 circa 1919. The Hamilton Grade 992 is the classic antique Lever Set Railroad Pocket Watch. The Hamilton 992 is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. We have a wonderful offering in this highly desired configuration with the Hamilton 21 Jewel 992 Movement, pristine Hamilton Double Sunk “Boxcar” Dial and housed in this beautiful White Gold Fill Railroad Case highlighted with these pristine Blued Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands. The bright white dial with the bold black Arabic numerals against the White Gold Fill Case highlighted with the beautifully Blued Steel Hands makes for a stunning pocket. I so hope the pictures and magnification help tell the story of this truly fine Hamilton Railroad Grade 992 Pocket Watch.

This Hamilton Grade 992 is faced with a flawless Double Sunk Hamilton Boxcar Railroad Dial. The Boxcar Railroad Dial is the height of functionality with the bold black Arabic font Numerals and no other adornment. This fine dial is made using 3 copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain, glass like finish. The Hamilton Double Sunk Dial has the recessed center chapter for the Hamilton logo, then we have the raised outer chapter for the Hamilton stylized Arabic block font numerals. Then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. Truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. This pristine dial is highlighted with the original beautifully heat-treated Blued Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This high grade Hamilton Grade 992 Movement is one of the most collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches. This Hamilton 992 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels and adjusted to 5 positions. The 992 is a size 16 and measures two inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. The total number of the Grade 992 produced was only 545,000 over 28 years from 1903 through 1930. This high-grade 992 Movement has the classic gold lettering and narrow pin stripe damasked nickel plate movement. The movement is also adjusted to heat and cold with a high-grade regulator, gold balance weights, raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper, accurate as designed.

The Hamilton Grade 992 is of the finest of Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured and earned the Hamilton Watch Company the name of “America’s Railroad Timekeeper”. This fine 992 is housed in this classic Star Watch Case Company White Gold Fill Case. Both bezels thread smoothly as designed. A new old stock beveled glass crystal has just been installed. There is a minor very minor indent on the case back, again very minor but I need to mention. The pocket watch shows beautifully with far less than normal ware for a 98-year timepiece. The Hamilton Grade 992 is truly the classic Railroad Grade Pocket Watch.

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.
