The Hamilton Grade 992 is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. This classic Hamilton Pocket Watch has the desired configuration with the Model 1 Grade 992 Movement, Hamilton Double Sunk Montgomery Dial, very popular silver tone Defiance Railroad Case and highlighted with the original beautifully blued Steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands. This pristine Hamilton Grade 992 Movement is referred to as the Model 1 with the double screw winding barrel. The early 992 also have the beautiful more ornate damasking with the lettering highlighted in gold. The later Grade 992’s went to the single winding barrel screw and the simple pin stripe damasking pattern. This Grade 992 was manufactured to the highest of standards and we have and excellent example for your consideration. This Hamilton 992 Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby and Sapphire Pallet Jewels and is adjusted to 5 positions. This movement is also adjusted to heat and cold with a high-grade micro regulator. This ¾ Nickel Plate movement has gold balance weights, Brequet Hairspring with flush and raised gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for exceptional accuracy. This finest of pocket watches has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.

This Hamilton Grade 992 is faced with a Double Sunk Montgomery Railroad Dial first offered in 1903. The Montgomery Dial was the most ornate and the top of the line dials offered in the day. The Montgomery Dial has every minute marker in Arabic Numerals around the outer circumference with every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. This Hamilton Double Sunk Dial has the recessed center chapter with the Hamilton logo then we have the raised outer chapter for the Hamilton stylized Arabic font numerals and a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. These fine dials were made using 3 copper plates soldered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich porcelain finish. Truly the classic Hamilton Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. There is a very small repair under the bezel that not visible and will not spread. This Montgomery Dial is highlighted with the heat treated beautifully blued steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands also in pristine condition. This fine Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.
