The Waltham Watch Company named their first railroad watch Crescent Street after their address by the Charles River, whose fresh breezes kept dust at bay. This example embodies all the aesthetic and mechanical excellence that the highly evolved model achieved. This Crescent Street was produced in 1900 in a production run of just 500 pieces. The substantial size-18 open-faced pocket watch's original hands and perfectly preserved dial conform to railroad grade legibility safety standards, enhanced by the elegant typography that made the timepieces popular with the general public. It's beautifully detailed, gently worn case forms a stunningly detailed frame for the minimalist dial. The striped rear remains monogram-free, ready for engraving or left as a testimony to the watch's longevity. The 21 jewel lever-set movement remains as it was: a hugely accurate, robust engine for daily use. Or as a cherished example of America's mechanical genius. All our treasured timepieces are completely disassembled, expertly cleaned and oiled using the finest quality watch oil and gear grease, and adjusted for accuracy. Full one year warranty.
