The Western Clock Manufacturing Company made their first pocket watch in 1899 and continued to make affordable pocket watches through the 1970s. The Westclox Pocket Watches were originally sold for $1.00 in the early 1900s, from the 40’s through the 1970s more people were carrying Westclox’s Pocket Watches probably more than any other single manufacture. The later Wesclox Pocket Watches manufactured after the 1930s did not have a jewel movement and where riveted in place are and not designed for repair. The line of Westclox were advertised to be within 3 minutes a day and would hold a wind for 30 hours. The Westclox we sell still keep time and function to within the advertised standards. Although they were not designed to be as accurate as a jeweled pocket watch, this was a significant innovation in its day, an affordable mechanical pocket watch that most everyone could afford. This Westclox Bulls Eye is in excellent condition and keeping time as it was designed, within a few minutes a day. This Westclox Pocket Watch measures 2 inches in diameter, the most popular of sizes. This Bulls Eye has the sub register for the second hand the later Bulls’s Eyes into the 1960s did not have the second hand. The Westclox Pocket Watches were very popular and put a pocket watch in just about every men’s or boys pockets over the last century.
