The Hamilton Pocket Watch Grade 992B was first introduced in 1940 and was the pinnacle and the last Hamilton Railroad Model Pocket Watch introduced. Production started in 1940 and was the last off the production line in 1969 with a total production of 685,300 over 29 years in 31 production runs. This Hamilton 992B is faced with a pristine Single Sunk Hamilton Railroad Dial; this is the classic railroad dial with the Hamilton Boxcar Arabic font numerals, the height of functionality. The classic Hamilton single sunk dial has the center chapter for the Hamilton logo written in block font, with the Arabic numerals around the outer circumference. Then we have a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. This Hamilton Railroad Dial is one of the most popular and collected of all railroad dials, both beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial is actually made using two pieces of metal soldiered together then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial that rich porcelain glass finish. This pristine dial is again without flaws and has the original beautiful Black Steel Spade / Whip Railroad Hands also in excellent condition. The Hamilton Pocket Watch Grade 992B is one of the most popular and collected of all Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured, a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. The Hamilton Grade 992B is lever set and stem wound movement with 21 fine Ruby Jewels, adjusted to 6 positions and heat and cold, with flush gold jewel settings with a double roller. This highest of grade pocket watches also has a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement all designed for an incredibly accurate timepiece. This highest of grade pocket watches kept the Hamilton Watch Company in the forefront of the major pocket watch manufactures and helped them maintain the title of “The Railroad Timekeeper of America”.
