We have of one of the most popular configurations with this pristine Hamilton Double Sunk Railroad Boxcar Dial, 992B Lever Set Movement, original Black Steel Spade/Whip Railroad Hands housed in this Yellow Gold Fill Hamilton Model A Case. This Hamilton Model A Case and the 992B Movement were first seen advertised in 1940. This configuration advertised as “factory cased and timed” was a benchmark in Hamilton’s production. The Hamilton Grade 992B Movement was the pinnacle and the last of the great Hamilton Railroad Models introduced. The Grade 992B was first produced in 1940 and the last produced in 1969 with a total production of 685,300 over 29 years in 31 production runs. This extra fine Hamilton 992B is faced with the a pristine and highly desired Hamilton Boxcar Dial; this is the classic railroad dial with the boldest of Hamilton Arabic font numerals. This fine dial is actually made using 3 Copper plates soldered together and then baked with many layers of Silica giving these dials the deep rich porcelain finish. The dial has the raised outer circumference with the classic Boxcar font numerals; with we have the sunken center chapter for the Hamilton Logo and then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. This Hamilton Railroad Dial is one of the most popular and collected of all railroad dials, both beautiful and the height of functionality. The Hamilton Railroad Grade 992B Movement is one of the most durable and accurate of all Railroad Grade Pocket Watches manufactured. The Grade 992B first introduced in 1940 replacing the 992 in Hamilton’s line up of the finest Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. The 992B is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of size pocket watches. The Hamilton Grade 992B is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels. Then we also have flush gold jewel settings, double roller, Brequet Hairspring, adjusted to 6 positions, high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement, all designed for an incredibly durable and accurate timepiece.
