Raymond Movement is lever set and stem wound and is a size 16 measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. This is a wonderful example of Elgin’s commitment to making the top of the line Railroad Pocket Watch. This model B.W. Raymond was manufactured from 1923 – 1944, with a total production of 185,000 in 90 production runs. This extra fine Elgin Grade #478 is cased in a beautiful 14K Rose Gold Fill Elgin Rigid Bow Case and reads “B.W. Raymond Model” on the inside back cover, this case was manufactured for this movement. This fine railroad case was made by the Wadsworth Watch Case Company for Elgin and also reads ‘Factory Cased and Timed By The Elgin Nat’l Watch Co.”

This is another excellent example of the late 19th early 20th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a worldwide standard for accuracy and beauty in timekeeping.

This fine Elgin Railroad Dial is one of the most popular of railroad dials, beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial referred to as a single sunk dial with the raised outer circumference for the Elgin Arabic numerals and the Elgin logo in the center portion. Then we have a recessed sub chapter for the second hand. This dial is made by baking many layers of silica onto two metal plates; giving the dial that deep rich glass appearance. The classic Elgin Railroad Dial has the popular stylized “Boxcar” Arabic Railroad font. A stunning Elgin Railroad Dial in again just excellent condition without flaws.
