The Burlington Watch Co. was the mail order division of the Illinois Watch Company and known for producing beautiful high grade pocket watches. This Grade 274 size 12 Hunter Case Pocket Watch measures 1¾ inch in diameter. The size 12 pocket watches was the Gentlemen's Dress Pocket Watch of the day and were a symbol of prestige and status and manufactured to the highest of standards. The Hunter Case Pocket Watches are getting harder to find, the gold and gold fill cases are soft enough that many have not survived the last 100 plus years. This fine Burlington Pocket Watch is in very good condition; the case does show a bit of wear yet still functions properly and shows beautifully.
