This is one of the highest-grade pocket watches manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company or any other watch manufacture of the day. This Ball Hamilton Model 999 was manufactured in partnership with Webb C. Ball who at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior set the standard for timekeeping in 1894, this was after a disastrous accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. Webb C. Ball did not actually produce any pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies to produce these finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. This is truly a collector’s pocket watch with this wonderful configuration of the White Gold Fill Display Back Case, Ball Hamilton Grade 999 Movement, Ball Patented Melamine Railroad Dial highlighted with the beautifully Blued Steel Spade/Spade Railroads Hands.

This Ball Hamilton 999 Pocket Watch is housed in this desired White Gold Fill Glass Back Display Case. These cases are referred to as Salesman Display Cases and were used to show the movement to potential customers without getting dirt and debris in the movement. These cases were not sold to the public so to speak. This fine case shows the Ball Movement beautifully and an opportunity to appreciate and share the mechanics of the most respected of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. This is truly an exceptional Ball Hamilton Grade 999 Pocket Watch and is ready for daily wear and is a wonderful addition to any collection.

The Ball Hamilton is faced with the patented Ball Official Railroad Dial. This dial is a later Melamine finish and is in excellent condition without flaws. This highly desired patented Ball Railroad Dial has the “Official RR Standard” written out, one of the most desired of all Railroad Dials. The Melamine Dials tend to not be as bright as the earlier porcelain dials; I thought I should mention this. The images show the dial much darker than it actually is. This fine dial is highlighted with the original heat-treated Blued Steel Spade/Spade Railroad Hands. This fine Ball Hamilton Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come. This all-original Ball Hamilton 999 Pocket Watch is a size 16, measuring 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. The Ball Hamilton 999 Movement is again of the highest of grade movement’s manufactured. This fine movement winds as smooth as any pocket watch, an incredible well-tooled movement. This fine movement has the unique circular damasking pattern with 21 fine Ruby and Sapphire Pallet Jewels. Then the 999 also has a high-grade micro regulator, double barrel, gold balance weights, screw gold jewel settings, gold center wheel and train, lever set and stem wound with a steel escapement. This 999 is also adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, all designed for extreme accuracy. This is Ball Hamilton is one of the finest Railroad Grade Pocket Watches manufactured and the one most collected of all pocket watches. This fine timepiece has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.
