This is one of the highest-grade pocket watches manufactured by the Hamilton Watch Company or any other watch manufacture of the day. This Ball Hamilton Model 999B was manufactured in partnership with Webb C. Ball who at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior set the standard for railroad timekeeping in 1894, this was after a disastrous accident between two mail trains with extensive loss of life and propriety all due to a faulty timepiece. Webb C. Ball did not produce pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies to produce these finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. This is truly the collector’s pocket watch with this most desired configuration. This configuration is referred to as triple signed that is the Ball Official Railroad Standard Porcelain Dial, Ball 999B Official Standard Movement and housed in this 10K Gold Fill Ball/Keystone Official Railroad Standard Stirrup Bow Model Case all patented by Webb C. Ball.

This Ball Hamilton Model 999B was manufactured in partnership with Webb C. Ball who at the request of the U.S Department of the Interior set the standard for railroad timekeeping in 1894. Ball did not produce pocket watches himself; rather he worked with the major watch companies to produce these finest of Railroad Grade Pocket Watches. Webb C. Ball later went on to become the Head Timekeeper for all the major railroads and maintained the railroad timekeeping from Canada trough the U.S. and into Mexico. This is truly the collector’s pocket watch with this most desired configuration. This configuration is referred to as triple signed that is the Ball Official Railroad Standard Porcelain Dial, Ball 999B Official Standard Movement and housed in this 10K Gold Fill Ball/Keystone Official Railroad Standard Stirrup Bow Model Case all patented by Webb C. Ball. The 999B was first introduced in 1940 replacing the 999P with new and improved metal alloys. This Ball Hamilton 999B Pocket Watch is housed in this highly desired 10K Yellow Gold Fill Stirrup Bow Case; Catalog Case #126. The Ball Stirrup Bow Case is in excellent condition with only a nick on the bezel, not an issue. This case was patented by Webb C. Ball and manufactured by the Keystone Case Company and is marked “Ball Model Official Railroad Standard” on the inside back cover. The 10K Yellow Gold Fill Cases were manufactured in limited production runs keeping demand high. The engraving is still crisp with no personal engraving yet. This is truly an exceptional Ball Hamilton Grade 999B Pocket Watch and ready for daily wear or as a wonderful addition to any collection.

This Ball Hamilton is faced with this pristine porcelain Single Sunk Ball Official Railroad Dial. This highly desired patented Ball Dial has the “Official RR Standard” written out, one of the most desired of all Railroad Dials. This Ball patented dial has the desired “Boxcar” style font still and shows beautifully. These fine dials are made using two copper plates soldered together and then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich glass/porcelain finish. This beautiful dial is highlighted with the original heat-treated Black Steel Spade Whip Railroad Hands. This fine Ball Hamilton shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This all-original Ball Hamilton 999B Pocket Watch is a size 16 that measured 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. This Official Railroad Standard 999B Movement is again of the highest of grade movements. The wind is smooth as any pocket watch, just an incredible movement. This fine movement has the unique circular damasking pattern with 21 fine Ruby and Sapphire Pallet Jewels. Then the 999B also has a high-grade micro regulator, double barrel, gold balance weights, raised gold and flush jewel settings, gold center wheel and train; lever set stem wound with a steel escapement. This 999B is also adjusted to 6 positions and temperature, all designed for extreme accuracy. This is Ball Hamilton is one of the finest Railroad Grade Pocket Watches manufactured and the one of the most collected of all pocket watches. This fine timepiece has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper as designed.
