This Gentlemen’s Dress Pocket Watch Pocket of the day is a size 16 and measures 2 inches in diameter the most popular of sizes. The Gentleman’s Dress Pocket Watch was a symbol of prestige and status and manufactured to the highest standards. We have an excellent example with this wonderful configuration; Elgin Grade 291 Movement, pristine Dress Dial, custom Blued Steel Hands housed in this Keystone Case Company Case and highlighted with the beautifully Blued Steel Hands. I hope the many pictures and extreme magnification helps tell the story of this fine Elgin Dress Pocket Watch of the day.

This Elgin Dress Dial is in pristine condition. We have a stunning single sunk dress dial. The dial is made using 2 Copper Plates soldered together then baked with many layers of Silica giving the dial that deep rich Porcelain finish. This fine dial has the Elgin stylized Arabic font numerals around the outer circumference with each second marker highlighted with a simple black hash marker. Then we have the recessed sub chapter for the second hand. This fine dial is highlighted with the classic and original Blued Steel Spade Whip Hands. This 96-year-old Elgin Dress Pocket Watch shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come.

This Elgin Grade 291 is a 7 Jewel ¾ Plate Movement and is Stem Set and Stem Wound. The fine movement has the desired ornate antique damasking on the Nickel Silver Plates. The Grade 291 Movement also has a gold center wheel, micro regulator, and gold balance weights, flush jewel settings with a steel escapement. This fine Elgin is housed in this Keystone Case Company Case. The case is a Silver tone Base Metal and does show a bit of ware to the back cover, the only issue with this pocket watch. This fine Elgin Pocket Watch makes a wonderful entry level pocket watch. This fine Elgin is ready for daily wear or as an addition to any collection.
