This is the classic Illinois Montgomery Railroad Dial. The Montgomery Dial has each minute counted out around the raised outer circumference with every 5-minute marker highlighted in red. Then we have the stylized Arabic numerals also on the raised outer chapter. Then we have a recessed center chapter for the Illinois logo, with a recessed sub-chapter for the second hand. Truly the classic Illinois Montgomery Railroad Dial both beautiful and the height of functionality. This dial is actually made using 3 pieces of metal soldiered together, then baked with many layers of silica giving the dial the depth and that rich glass like porcelain finish. The dial does have some minor crazing but given the rarity we live with an imperfection. This fine Illinois Sangamo Special shows beautifully and is sure to be appreciated for generations to come. The Sangamo Special is again of the highest-grade movements the Illinois Watch Company manufactured. The antique movement is referred to a bridge or 3-finger movement. An interesting design where you can see most of the gears. This Sangamo Special Movement is lever set and stem wound with 21 fine Ruby Jewels. This movement is also adjusted to 6 positions and heat and cold. Then we have a high-grade micro regulator, gold balance weights, gold jewel settings raised and flush, gold center wheel and train with a steel escapement. One of the finest Railroad Pocket Watches manufactured and an extremely accurate pocket watch.
