We have for sale an antique Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch Model 940. This top of the line 940 Movement has 21 jewels, motor barrel, double roller, lever set and just beautiful ornate damasking on the nickel plates that are just spotless with the lettering highlighted in gold, very nice. This is the pocket watch that earned Hamilton Watch Co. the name of “Americas Timekeeper”, this was the scientific instrument of the day in 1914 .The Model 940 is a size 18 and measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter. This timepiece shows beautifully has just been serviced and is an excellent timekeeper.



The railroad case has a slot for the lever and is manufactured by the Keystone Watch Case Company and is a J Boss Model their highest grade of railroad cases and marked 10K Gold Filled. This case is in just excellent condition with no signs of even normal wear, no dings dents or major scratches you would expect from a railroad timepiece. Yes, the inside back cover does have many “Railroad Watch Inspectors” markings as evidence is watch was used in the railway industry.



The beautiful Hamilton Dial, Blue Steel Hands and Custom Yellow Gold Filled Case are all in just excellent condition. This dial has the desired script with “Hamilton” in a handwritten font. The Old English Arabic numeral font is just beautiful with red highlights at every 5 minute marker. This highly prized Model 940 set the standard for the American Railroad Pocket Watch which others strive to match in quality and performance.



This Hamilton 940’s classic Blue Spade Hands, Double Sunk Dial and the 940 Movement and all in excellent condition, close to perfect. The only issue is the dial has a flake at 6 minutes mostly under the bezel. The pictures help tell the story of this truly classic Hamilton Railroad Pocket Watch.



This is another excellent example of the of the 19th Century ingenuity that made the American Pocket Watch a world wide standard for accuracy and beauty in time keeping.
